Here is my participation in the Italian Scrapbooking game "Scrappiamo Insieme" of April 2021

Actualizado: 4 sept 2021

Yesterday for the first time in several years I took the time for myself, to sit back and enjoy creating a traditional scrapbooking layout, something that since I started documenting my life with BujoScrap I have not done and the truth is that I really enjoyed going back to that first love of mine, traditional scrapbooking layouts.

Following a sketch as a guide, preparing each of the necessary items, using a preset color palette... and the magic of putting it all together on a page that evokes memories, moments, people ... Scrapbooking is more than just a hobby!

But let's get to the point ... First I'll show you the result and then I'll show you the materials I used, where to find them, the video of my process and some ideas to help you follow my steps :).

This is my layout for the Italian game Scrappiamo Insieme following the inspiration of April 2021:

This is the sketch that had to be followed, and not only as a free inspiration, but in this game it is necessary to respect each of the elements, their proportions and type ... that is, if there is a flower, you must put a flower, if there's a tag, you have to put ... a tag! I think you got the idea :)

It was a nice surprise to work with Sketchabilities sketches again ... those who have taken my courses in the past will remember them ... we used them as inspiration often ♥

Here's the video of my process and below, a list of the materials I used and how I took advantage of each, as well as the links where you can get them;)

Remember that even if I no longer have the online store, buying from my partners and affiliates will indirectly support my business, which allows me to continue creating free content for you, so THANK YOU in advance ♥

Now... the video:

As you can see, the first thing I did was choosing my materials.

In my case I used WeR Memory Keepers' GOODDAY SUNSHINE line of scrapbooking papers and accessories, along with several elements of my Roses & Tea digital kit that can be downloaded from HERE.

The scrapbooking paper collections that I had in my eshop are now inside My Last Bundle. You can read more about it in my post: The incredible story behind my last bundle.

You can also see the WeR paper collections, a big part of these bundles, one by one, in this other post:

Here are the links to the papers I have chosen specifically for this LO, along with the other products I used to bring it to life:

GOODDAY SUNSHINE Scrapbooking kit with acid free, transparent, rigid organizer.

Contains 6 sheets of 12 "x12" plain papers, 6 printed 12 "x12" papers, 2 of them with glitter details, a set of textured cards and a sheet of beautifully textured stickers.

YOU CAN BUY IT HERE

GOODDAY SUNSHINE Kit of scrapbooking papers and decorations.

Contains 16 sheets, 12"x12" (30.5cm), 2 with glitter - 8 different patterns + 8 sheets 6 "x 6" (15.2cm), 24 decorative borders on cards of 3 borders each -for you to trim ;)(12 different borders, 2 of each)

YOU CAN BUY IT HERE

I also prepared my Derwent watercolors. I didn't find them on Amazon but I found these instead to recommend you, which I love and can't wait to have them again!

Watercolor by Paul Rubens.

They are available in sets of 12, 24 and 48 colors, standard and metallic.

Aren't they beautiful? ♥

YOU CAN BUY THEM HERE

For all the "penwork" (doodling) I always use my fineliners by Chameleon:

They come in:

Sets of 48

Sets of 24

Sets of 12 BRILLANT https://amzn.to/30DFDhW

Sets of 12 DESIGNER https://amzn.to/38wgGco

(I don't sell them, they are Amazon affiliate links :))

And for all calligraphy related, I always use my beloved TOMBOW pens...

This is the best set I can recommend because it brings both soft and hard tips for different writing sizes and styles, plus the double gray brush which is ohhhhh so nice ♥

YOU CAN FIND THEM HERE

You may have also seen that I used my vast assortment of eyelets to find the perfect color to create that matching tag ...

Here's a link to my store where you can buy the beautiful bundles of around 500 assorted eyelets, along with my set of Liberty Alpha stamps that I used for the title, remember that the store time is over, these are only left overs so take advantage of them while you can, stock is runing out fast!

Now, as you see in the video, instead of drawing my flowers and leaves as I normally would, I took advantage of the beauty of the papers in the GOODDAY SUNSHINE kit and cut them out from there.

I used the watercolors for the "drops" of color (required by the sketch) and to paint some elements so that they were better integrated to the whole.

I have unified each of the elements with "penwork" (slightly messy outlines that I love to do with a black pen, tracing the borders of everything I can) ... it is one of my signature style ;)

Since the background paper is not plain, I wrote my journaling in strips of white paper, outlining rectangles for each line, which I then cut out and glued in various parts of the page.

Overlapping all the elements is always fun... putting those clusters together to create focal points is what brings balance to the composition.

Going back to creating a traditional scrapbooking layout after such a long time was a real challenge, but I enjoyed it so much!

And now thanks to this Italian game where you are assigned to a given team when you join the facebook group "Scrappiamo insieme", I will have the excuse to do it at least once a month.

My team, in case you are curious, is called ♥ The Chip(on)Boards ♥ :) ... thanks to all my group mates for the wonderful welcome :)

For those who still don't know, all my courses, whether they are the ones I do for Skillshare or the ones I create for my own platforms, will always be published in the COURSES section of my site:

This, in addition to the free BujoScrap course that I offer every Friday live from my facebook group: The BujoScrap Club https://www.facebook.com/groups/BujoScrapClub

Let me know if you have any questions.

Till the next post!
